System overview
The RM-VERT™ P2200-TM is a modern welded aluminum picket guard system designed to provide a refined architectural appearance while maintaining the durability and structural performance required for exterior guard applications.
Updated picket and rail profiles, flexible post configurations and shop-welded assemblies deliver consistent quality across residential, commercial and multi-residential projects.
Suitable for new construction and retrofit balcony, terrace and stair guard applications.
Configuration
- Welded aluminum picket guard system for top-mounted applications
- 1½" and 2½" common post configurations with 2½" square corner post assemblies
- Structural aluminum posts, rails and pickets fabricated from weld-appropriate aluminum alloys including 6061-T6, 6063-T6 and 6005A-T6 or approved equivalent
- Shop-welded post and rail assemblies fabricated under controlled manufacturing conditions
- Vertical aluminum picket infill; picket size, profile and spacing configured to meet building code requirements
- Fixed, rigid system once installed and secured
- Suitable for residential, multi-residential, commercial and podium applications

Short-form specification
Ready to paste into Section 05 73 00 (Decorative Metal Railings) or the guard schedule. Project-specific values (glass thickness, guard height, color) are left for the specifier to complete.
Guard system: RM-VERT™ P2200-TM (Modern Top-Mounted Aluminum Picket Railing System), as manufactured by Railing Masters Inc., 110 Claireport Crescent, Unit 4, Etobicoke, Ontario.
Fabrication: Shop-welded aluminum post and rail assemblies fabricated under controlled conditions in accordance with AWS D1.2; no field welding of structural aluminum components.
Materials: Structural components of weld-appropriate aluminum alloys (6061-T6, 6005A-T6, 6063-T6); stainless steel fasteners and concealed hardware; isolation materials at all dissimilar-metal interfaces. Extrusions supplied by certified North American manufacturers with mill certification available.
Infill: Vertical aluminum picket infill, sized and spaced to restrict the passage of a 100 mm sphere.
Mounting and anchorage: Top-mounted (surface-mounted) to structural slab. Anchorage engineered to project loading requirements; shop drawings showing anchorage layout and panel configuration to be submitted for review.
Performance: Designed to meet or exceed Ontario Building Code guard load provisions (OBC 4.1.5.14) and CSA S157 aluminum structural design.
Finish: Factory-applied powder coat, Duracron, Acrynar or Duranar (XL) coating to AAMA 2603, 2604 or 2605 as scheduled; color per architect's selection.
